Thoughtful little things for everyday living.

A practical buying guide

Find your kind of night light.

Start with the color of the glow, then think about where it will sit. Our two plug-in sets use light sensors and come in packs of six.

Choose a color you enjoy after dark.

Light color is a preference, not a room rule. Warm white looks softer in tone; daylight white looks clearer and cooler. Consider the other lighting in your room and whether you want the small night light to feel similar or distinct. Product photos show the shape and intended effect, but your screen and room can change how the color appears.

Place it along the route you use.

Think about your usual path rather than trying to illuminate every wall. A hallway outlet near a doorway, a dry outlet outside a bathroom or a kitchen corner may be useful places to begin. Keep furniture and curtains away from the sensor so it can respond to the room’s ambient light.

Both sets have a compact, offset plug design. Check the remaining space if the other outlet holds a wide power adapter. Use a dry indoor location, and follow the instructions supplied with the light.

Try the position by day and by night.

A light sensor responds to the light at its own position. A dark corner can turn the night light on during the day; a bright lamp nearby may keep it off in the evening. Once you have chosen a location, check how it behaves during both conditions. Move it to a more suitable outlet if the result does not suit your routine.

A night light provides a gentle visual cue. Turn on your main light for tasks that require detailed visibility, and keep walkways clear.

Light sensing and motion sensing are different.

These two Uigos sets respond to room brightness. They do not wait for a person to walk past. That makes them useful when you want a steady guiding light while the room is dark, without a separate motion trigger.

Make a six-pack work around your home.

Begin with a few useful positions, then check them after dark before placing the rest. You may prefer the same glow along a hallway or want to keep spare lights for another room. There is no need to put all six in one space.
